Tour Sales Specialist – Premium Adventure Tourism Brand
Derby – Office Based
£30,000 basic + uncapped commission | £45,000+ realistic OTE
Are you a natural salesperson who loves travel, adventure and creating brilliant customer experiences? We’re recruiting a Tour Sales Specialist to join a growing premium adventure tourism brand based in Derby.
This is a sales role with a difference. You’ll be speaking to customers who are considering incredible, often once-in-a-lifetime trips around the world. Your job is to understand what they’re looking for, bring the experience to life and help turn that initial enquiry into a booking.
But the relationship doesn’t end when the sale is made. You’ll own your customers throughout their journey – building relationships that generate repeat bookings, recommendations and long-term loyalty.
The Role
You’ll manage your own pipeline of new enquiries, previous customers and warm leads, combining consultative sales with exceptional relationship management.
You’ll be:
- Responding to inbound enquiries and converting them into bookings
- Making proactive outbound calls to warm leads and previous customers
- Asking great questions to understand exactly what customers want from their adventure
- Recommending the right tours, destinations and options
- Confidently handling questions and objections and progressing opportunities
- Identifying relevant upgrades, add-ons and additional experiences
- Working towards individual and team sales and conversion targets
- Following up consistently to make sure great opportunities aren't lost
- Supporting customers before they travel and keeping communication personal and proactive
- Reconnecting after their trip to generate reviews, referrals and future bookings
- Developing relationships with customers who could travel with the business again and again

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Every day your agent scans the market matching roles against what actually matters to you, not just keywords on a CV.
Why you're a good match
You’ve got the grades and the economics background, and your bank internship is exactly the experience this scheme looks for. Apply soon — deadlines close within the month.
Experience fit
Your summer at the bank plus your econometrics coursework map directly to the day-one responsibilities on this scheme — client modelling, market briefings, and deal support.
Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
Sales With Substance
This isn't about aggressive selling or working through a script. These are significant, high-value purchases and customers need someone who can build trust, understand what matters to them and confidently guide them towards the right decision. You’ll need to enjoy selling and hitting targets, but also genuinely care about the experience your customers receive.
Systems Matter
Alongside being brilliant with people, you’ll need to be highly organised. You’ll manage multiple enquiries, bookings and follow-ups at the same time, using a CRM every day to manage your pipeline and ensure every customer has a clear next step.
Previous CRM experience and confident use of Excel and/or Google Sheets are essential. HubSpot experience would be a bonus, but isn't essential. We’re looking for someone who follows through, keeps accurate records and takes real ownership of their sales pipeline.
About You
You could currently be working in premium travel, adventure travel, luxury holidays, tailor-made travel, hospitality, leisure or another high-value sales environment.
More important than your exact sector is your ability to:
- Build rapport quickly and naturally
- Sell through great conversations rather than pressure
- Work confidently towards sales and conversion targets
- Manage a pipeline and follow up consistently
- Build long-term customer relationships
- Use CRM systems and digital tools confidently
- Stay organised when managing multiple customers and priorities
- Take ownership and get things done

The Opportunity
You'll also have the opportunity to really get under the skin of the product, with potential opportunities to experience some of the incredible tours and destinations first-hand.
For someone who loves sales, travel and building relationships, this is a chance to sell something genuinely exciting – and build a career with a growing premium adventure tourism brand.
Working Pattern
This is a fully office-based role in Derby.
Because the business has customers around the world, including a significant North American customer base, this isn't a traditional 9–5 role. The working pattern includes a mixture of 10am–6pm and 12pm–8pm shifts, alongside some weekend customer coverage on a team rota.
If you're commercially driven, brilliant with people and would love to turn conversations about incredible adventures into bookings, we'd love to hear from you.
