The Utterly Revolting Science Show
The Utterly Revolting Science Show is looking for an exceptional performer to join our UK touring production in 2027.
About the Role
Created by the team behind the hit family show Rude Science, this fast-paced theatrical production combines spectacular science demonstrations, comedy, and audience participation to inspire children aged 5–13 while entertaining audiences of all ages. It's smart, funny, energetic, and unapologetically revolting, featuring everything from burps and f*rts to explosions, edible chemistry, and larger-than-life science.
As Lead Performer, you'll deliver two live performances each show day, bringing confidence, warmth, and comic flair to a largely scripted show while responding naturally to audience interaction and volunteers on stage. You'll become the face of the production, helping to create unforgettable theatre experiences that inspire curiosity through laughter.

Responsibilities
Working alongside an experienced co-presenter and stage manager, you'll play an active role in every aspect of touring life. In addition to performing, you'll assist with:
- Loading and unloading the show
- Setting up and packing down equipment
- Operating on-stage multimedia (full training provided)
- Troubleshooting technical issues
- Meeting audiences after performances
- Managing merchandise sales
- Sharing driving duties between venues
Requirements
This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys life on the road and thrives as part of a small, collaborative team. We're looking for a confident, engaging performer with excellent communication skills, strong practical instincts, and the ability to remain calm and adaptable in a live environment. Experience performing for family audiences is essential, while touring, technical theatre, or science communication experience would be an advantage.

Tour Schedule
The tour takes place across the UK during school holiday periods between February and November 2027, with rehearsals in January/February.
