Tourism Marketing Specialist

Job Overview
We are seeking a creative and analytical Tourism Marketing Specialist to support marketing strategies and promotional initiatives across the travel and tourism sector. The successful candidate will help develop and execute marketing campaigns, analyse market trends, create engaging content, and support initiatives that increase destination awareness, visitor engagement, and demand for tourism products and services.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement tourism marketing campaigns across digital and traditional channels.
- Promote destinations, attractions, travel experiences, events, and tourism products.
- Conduct market research to understand visitor behaviour, customer preferences, and industry trends.
- Create and coordinate marketing content for websites, social media, email, and other promotional channels.
- Support destination branding and tourism promotional strategies.
- Monitor campaign performance and analyse key marketing metrics.
- Prepare marketing reports, presentations, and performance insights.
- Manage and maintain marketing materials, content calendars, and campaign records.
- Coordinate with tourism organisations, travel businesses, suppliers, agencies, and external partners.
- Support social media, SEO, email marketing, paid advertising, and other digital initiatives.
- Monitor competitor activity and identify new market opportunities.
- Assist with tourism events, exhibitions, promotional programmes, and industry activities.
- Recommend improvements based on campaign results, market research, and customer insights.

Requirements
- Interest in tourism, travel, marketing, communications, or a related field.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Good understanding of marketing and digital marketing principles.
- Strong analytical and research abilities.
- Creative mindset with excellent attention to detail.
- Good organisational and project management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple campaigns and deadlines.
- Comfortable working with marketing data and performance metrics.
- Good computer and Microsoft Office skills.
- Previous tourism or marketing experience is beneficial but not essential.

Preferred Skills
- Experience with social media marketing and content creation.
- Familiarity with SEO, PPC, email marketing, and digital advertising.
- Knowledge of UK and international tourism markets.
- Experience with Google Analytics, Google Ads, Meta Ads, or similar platforms.
- Familiarity with Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or other content creation tools.
- Experience with CRM or marketing automation platforms.
- Experience working with travel agencies, tour operators, hotels, attractions, airlines, or destination marketing organisations is advantageous.
