Role Description
The Tourism Officer at Ocean Rock Base is a part-time, remote role responsible for promoting tourism offerings and enhancing the visitor experience through digital channels.
Day-to-day tasks include:
- Providing online information and support to travelers
- Answering inquiries
- Recommending destinations or services aligned with visitor interests
The role involves:

Qualifications
- Strong Communication skills, including clear written and verbal interaction with diverse audiences.
- Knowledge of Travel & Tourism, including understanding of destinations, travel trends, and visitor needs.
- Customer Service skills focused on responsiveness, empathy, and resolving traveler inquiries effectively.
- Sales and Marketing skills to support tourism promotions, outreach campaigns, and visitor engagement.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment, manage time effectively, and handle multiple tasks.
- Comfort with digital tools and online platforms used for tourism information, outreach, and reporting.
- Interest or experience in community-based or sustainable tourism is beneficial.
- Relevant education or training in tourism, hospitality, marketing, or a related field is an advantage.
