🛠️ We’re Hiring: Tourism Project Manager

📍 Remote (United Kingdom)
🕒 Full-Time
💼 Level: Manager / Mid-Level / Experienced
💰 Base Salary: £3,500+ per month

We’re looking for a highly organised, strategic, and results-driven Tourism Project Manager to lead and coordinate projects across the travel and tourism sector.

This role is ideal for an experienced professional who is passionate about tourism, travel, project management, destination development, partnerships, and customer experiences, and who enjoys managing multiple stakeholders, timelines, budgets, and deliverables from planning through completion.

🎯 Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning, coordination, and delivery of tourism projects from concept through completion
  • Develop detailed project plans, objectives, timelines, budgets, milestones, and performance indicators
  • Coordinate tourism campaigns, destination initiatives, visitor experience programmes, events, partnerships, and development projects
  • Manage project schedules, resources, budgets, deliverables, risks, and dependencies
  • Work closely with tourism boards, local authorities, travel agencies, tour operators, hotels, airlines, attractions, hospitality businesses, suppliers, and other industry partners
  • Establish clear project objectives, responsibilities, deadlines, and communication processes
  • Coordinate internal teams and external partners to ensure projects remain on schedule and within budget
  • Monitor project progress and proactively identify risks, delays, operational issues, and opportunities
  • Develop solutions and implement corrective actions when project requirements or timelines change
  • Prepare project proposals, business cases, budgets, presentations, reports, and supporting documentation
  • Manage meetings, workshops, stakeholder consultations, project reviews, and progress updates
  • Maintain accurate project documentation, records, schedules, budgets, and reporting systems
  • Track project performance against agreed KPIs, objectives, budgets, and timelines
  • Prepare regular project reports and provide recommendations to senior management
  • Coordinate tourism events, exhibitions, conferences, trade shows, promotional programmes, and industry activities where required
  • Support destination development, tourism product development, marketing, visitor experience, and partnership initiatives
  • Gather stakeholder and customer feedback to evaluate project outcomes and identify areas for improvement
  • Conduct post-project reviews and document lessons learned and best practices
  • Stay up to date with tourism trends, industry developments, market conditions, and relevant regulations

🤝 Stakeholder & Team Management

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams across marketing, operations, sales, product, partnerships, and customer experience
  • Manage communication between project stakeholders and ensure information is shared accurately and on time
  • Facilitate project meetings, workshops, presentations, and stakeholder discussions
  • Provide guidance and direction to project coordinators, executives, suppliers, and other contributors
  • Negotiate timelines, deliverables, priorities, and expectations with project partners
  • Ensure all stakeholders understand project objectives, responsibilities, and deadlines

📊 Project Planning & Performance

  • Develop project budgets and monitor expenditure against approved plans
  • Establish project KPIs and performance measurement frameworks
  • Monitor project risks, issues, dependencies, and resource requirements
  • Analyse project data and prepare performance reports for management
  • Identify opportunities to improve project efficiency, quality, customer experience, and commercial outcomes
  • Ensure projects are delivered in accordance with agreed quality standards and organisational objectives

✅ Requirements

  • 3–5+ years of relevant experience in project management, tourism, travel, hospitality, destination development, marketing, or a related field
  • Degree, diploma, or equivalent practical experience in Project Management, Tourism, Travel, Hospitality, Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related discipline
  • Proven experience managing projects from planning through successful completion
  • Strong project planning, coordination, budgeting, and organisational skills
  • Excellent stakeholder management and relationship-building abilities
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
  • Confident presenting project information to senior management, clients, partners, and industry stakeholders
  • Experience using project management tools, CRM systems, Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, or similar platforms
  • Strong understanding of tourism, travel, hospitality, destination development, or visitor experiences
  • Commercial awareness and ability to identify opportunities for growth and improvement
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet demanding deadlines
  • Project management certification such as PRINCE2, Agile, PMP, or equivalent is an advantage
  • Experience working with tourism boards, destination organisations, local authorities, or travel industry partners is a plus
  • Comfortable working independently and collaboratively in a remote environment
  • Based in the United Kingdom with the legal right to work in the UK
