Job Type: Full Time, Permanent

Location: Shipdham, Norfolk

Working Hours: Monday to Friday – 7:30am to 4.00pm, with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break. Overtime available when required.

Salary: £16.00 per hour to £18.00 per hour, depending on experience.

About the Company

Within the Falcon Group is Falcon Tower Crane Services, the largest tower crane supplier in the UK and one of the largest in the world with just under 450 tower cranes nationwide. Falcon Power Generation with 400 generators nationwide along with Falcon Freight who operate a fleet of 37 HGV vehicles with a selection of units supporting artic and rigid HIAB cranes.

The Role – Tower Crane Electrician

We are looking for a full-time Tower Crane Electrician to be based at our Shipdham, Norfolk depot.

Comprehensive training, continued professional development, and ongoing support will be provided to help you excel in the role. Full training alongside engineers with various skill sets will be given until duties can be performed independently.

Working collaboratively within the Electrical Department at our Shipdham Depot, you will be responsible for carrying out full services on our fleet of tower cranes, completing repairs and modifications according to the manufacturer’s specifications, preparing tower cranes ready to be loaded to sites, assisting with the servicing and maintenance of all tower cranes at the Shipdham Depot and working in accordance with the tower crane build sheet.

You will also be responsible for completing inspections, safety checks, and accurate maintenance records, sourcing replacement parts where required, and responding to equipment breakdowns to minimise operational downtime. The role will involve working at height in line with Company procedures, using approved safety equipment at all times.

You will ensure all work is completed safely and efficiently, following Company policies, procedures, risk assessments, and relevant health & safety requirements.

Essential Experience & Qualifications

What We’re Looking For – Tower Crane Electrician:

  • 2391-51 Inspection and Testing of Electrical Installations.
  • 2365-02 Level 2 Diploma in Electrical Installations.
  • NVQ Level 3 in either a Mechanical or Electrical background.
  • Current Wiring Regulations, for example, Level 3 Award in the Requirements for Electrical Installations BS 7671 (18th Edition).
  • Fault finding experience.

Desirable Qualifications & Experience – Tower Crane Electrician

  • A40C – Pedestrian Operated Tower Crane.
  • A40B – Slinger.
  • Forklift Driver.
  • Working at Height.
  • Manual Handling.
  • Abrasive Wheels.

Key Skills & Personal Attributes – Tower Crane Electrician

  • Confidently read and understand electrical diagrams.
  • Competence with 3 Phase electrical supplies.
  • Competence with low voltage AC and DC control circuits.
  • Capable of following manufacturers’ guidelines and safe systems of work.
  • Fully conversant with, and able to navigate, tower crane manufacturers’ handbooks.
  • Able to communicate clearly and effectively.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team with a highly supportive and collaborative approach.
  • Excellent time management skills to ensure the workload is carried out effectively.
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Commitment to safety and following company procedures.
  • Positive attitude, good timekeeping, and a desire to learn and develop.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a hands-on approach to tasks.
  • Strong work ethic and a can-do attitude.
  • The ability to perform the job responsibilities safely and effectively, without endangering your own health or the health of others.
  • Be prepared to work outside in all weather conditions, for which suitable PPE will be provided.
  • Promote and display a positive Safety Culture.

Additional Requirement

Due to our rural location, it is essential that the successful candidate has a full driving licence and their own transport.
