Role Description
The Town Planner will play a key role in managing and delivering planning projects across residential, agricultural, industrial, and renewable energy developments. Day-to-day responsibilities include:

The role involves interpreting planning policy and legislation, preparing reports and supporting documentation, and contributing to project strategies from early feasibility through to consent. The Town Planner will collaborate closely with in-house designers, project managers, and clients to ensure proposals are practical, compliant, and aligned with client objectives.
This is a full-time, on-site role based in Ludgershall, requiring regular engagement with the local planning environment and project sites.
Qualifications
- Strong town planning and development control skills, with experience preparing and managing planning applications.
- Ability to interpret planning policy, legislation, and local authority requirements and apply them to a range of project types.
- Competence in report writing, producing clear supporting statements, feasibility studies, and documentation.
- Effective communication and stakeholder engagement skills, including working with clients, consultants, and public bodies.
- Organizational and project management abilities to handle multiple projects, deadlines, and changing priorities.
- Relevant degree in Town Planning, Urban Planning, Geography, or a related field; membership or eligibility for membership of a professional planning body (e.g., RTPI) is an advantage.
- Comfort working on-site in Ludgershall, with a proactive, collaborative approach and attention to detail.
- Experience in residential, agricultural, industrial, or renewable energy planning is beneficial, along with knowledge of UK planning processes.
