Town Planner Central London | Independent Planning Consultancy
If you're currently working as a Development Management or Policy Planning Officer within a Local Planning Authority and have been considering a move into consultancy, this could be an excellent opportunity to make that transition.
PropSource Consulting is exclusively supporting a growing independent planning consultancy in Central London as they continue to expand their planning team. They're looking to appoint a Town Planner and are particularly keen to speak with planners from local authorities who are looking for greater project variety, client exposure, and long-term career progression.
Applications are also welcomed from planners already working within private consultancy.
The Opportunity
You'll work across a diverse portfolio of projects, including strategic residential developments, mixed-use schemes, and multiple GLA referable applications throughout London and the South of England.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
