TP141 Commissioning Engineer - 400kV National Grid Substation Project

We're currently supporting a major T&D EPC Contractor in the search for a TP141 Commissioning Engineer to start in October or November on a 400kV National Grid substation project in London.

The project forms part of a major programme to reinforce London’s transmission network and involves the delivery and integration of new 400kV GIS, transformers, protection, control and auxiliary systems.

The successful contractor will support commissioning through testing, energisation and handover, with potential to continue onto further UK transmission projects.

Responsibilities:

• Act as the authorised TP141 Commissioning Engineer for site commissioning activities.
• Plan and execute commissioning activities for a new 400kV GIS substation.
• Lead testing and commissioning of GIS, transformers and associated primary plant.
• Coordinate protection, control, interlocking, SCADA/SCS and auxiliary systems commissioning.
• Support integration of new assets into the existing transmission network.
• Review commissioning plans, test procedures, ITPs, switching programmes and energisation documentation.
• Oversee functional, protection, interlocking and end-to-end testing.
• Coordinate with engineering, construction, client, OEM and subcontractor teams.
• Support outage planning, energisation and defect resolution.
• Maintain commissioning and handover documentation.
• Ensure compliance with transmission procedures, project specifications and safety requirements.
