Role Description
The Tractor Driver role at AMS Contracting Ltd is a full-time, hybrid position based in Chichester, with some work-from-home tasks possible for planning, reporting, and training. Day-to-day responsibilities include:

- Operating tractors and related machinery for sports turf maintenance, drainage work, earthmoving, and landscaping projects.
- Transporting equipment and materials to and from job sites.
- Performing basic maintenance checks on vehicles and machinery.
- Following all safety and environmental guidelines.
- Coordinating with site supervisors and team members to ensure work is completed efficiently, accurately, and in line with project specifications and client expectations.
- Accurate record-keeping of work completed, mileage, and maintenance activities.

Qualifications
- Strong tractor operation skills, including safe use of attachments and implements, and experience working on turf, drainage, or agricultural land.
- Commercial driving skills, ideally including CDL Class A or equivalent, and proven experience with truck driving and vehicle transport.
- Background in agriculture or land-based work, with understanding of soil, drainage, and field conditions relevant to sports surfaces.
- Experience operating trucks and agricultural machinery in varied weather and site conditions, with a focus on safety and efficiency.
- Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and ability to meet all company and regulatory vehicle compliance standards.
- Ability to read job plans, follow instructions, and work both independently and as part of a site team.
- Good communication skills, reliability, and a proactive approach to equipment care and workplace safety.
- Willingness to work flexible hours as required by project schedules; prior experience in sports turf, landscaping, or construction is an advantage.
