About Nivoda 🚀
Nivoda is a rapidly scaling global B2B diamond and gemstone marketplace connecting jewellery retailers with competitive, high-quality suppliers worldwide. Processing $300M+ in annual transactions and operating across multiple regions, Nivoda is transforming a $350B industry that has historically been slow to modernise.
Our Mission 🎯
Nivoda started with a simple observation: buying and selling diamonds was slow, opaque, and inefficient, no matter how big or small your business was. Our platform fixes this by giving every jewellery business, wherever they are in the world, the same access to inventory, financing, and logistics as the biggest players in the industry.
About the Role 🤔
As we expand into jewellery and new markets, the complexity of moving products across borders has grown fast. Loose diamonds have historically had simple customs treatment in most jurisdictions; jewellery is a different story, with its own tariff regimes and duty rules. This is a new, dedicated role that will sit within fulfilment, close to the shipments and the broker relationships where trade compliance actually gets executed day to day preparing documentation, applying classifications, managing broker performance, and owning our duty drawback program end to end. Legal & Compliance own the policy layer: the classification framework, country-of-origin rules, and regulatory interpretation. You'll partner with them constantly and escalate anything genuinely unclear, but this role owns execution.
It's an individual contributor role with high ownership; there's no capability like this at Nivoda today, so you'll be building the operating rhythm as you go, not inheriting one.
What will you be doing? 😎
- Prepare all shipment documentation and commercial invoices, and ensure accurate, complete documentation is retrieved from brokers and carriers and stored centrally on our platform
- Apply the HTS classifications and country-of-origin determinations that Legal & Compliance have approved, consistently across our shipment processes and systems in partnership with product
- Manage day-to-day customs broker relationships, coordinating clearance, reviewing broker performance, and ensuring broker practices stay aligned with our classification framework
- Monitor duties as part of landed shipping costs, catch unexpected duty outcomes, and file claims with customs brokers when errors are found
- Resolve routine customs queries during clearance, and ensure declarations for import and export are applied accurately
- Own the duty drawback program day to day, acting as the internal point of contact with Livingstone, and preparing and validating claims before submission
- Monitor the US import bond and keep it compliant, since this underpins business continuity for our largest lane
- Partnering with our manufacturers (starting with India) to ensure their export documentation and processes support compliant, duty-efficient shipping
- Identifying and acting on duty-saving opportunities through relevant free trade agreements (e.g. India-UK, EU-UK, EU-India, UAE-India)
- Building out trade compliance processes as our jewellery business scales into new duty-liable markets, and escalating complex classification or legal interpretation questions to Legal & Compliance

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
