Your New Job as a Trade Credit & Surety Broker
You will be working for a specialist, highly respected Lloyd's Insurance Broker with offices based around the UK, including the City, London, and the Southeast. They provide unparalleled services to meet client demands and needs. They have more than 100 staff across the offices and are looking to expand that number further. This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established business with a strong market reputation and an ambitious growth strategy within the surety and trade credit market.
Your New Role
You will play a key role in advising and placing Trade Credit Solutions and Surety Bonds, supporting existing relationships while also driving new business opportunities. Working closely with clients, insurers, and internal stakeholders, you will be responsible for managing placements from initial enquiry through to completion, negotiating terms with insurers, and delivering a first-class client experience.
Key responsibilities include:
- Placing and servicing a range of Trade Credit and Surety business from inception to completion
- Visiting clients and dealing with them on a day-to-day basis
- Preparing and presenting underwriting submissions to the market
- Negotiating terms and securing competitive solutions for clients
- Reviewing and interpreting financial information and company accounts
- Managing insurer and underwriter relationships
- Supporting the wider business with technical expertise and market knowledge
- Developing client relationships and identifying new business opportunities
- Attending client meetings and networking events to generate revenue growth
- Seeking underwriter approval on bonds where lines of authority are not in place and keeping clients advised of underwriting requirements
- Issuing invoices where appropriate for new and extended bonds
- Obtaining release documentation as appropriate
- Keeping client facility updated
- Working closely with the Construction team

What You'll Need to Succeed
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Experience within Surety, Trade Credit as a Broker or Account Executive with ideally exposure to complex placements (preferred but not essential)
- Strong understanding of trade credit products and market dynamics
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Cert CII or Dip CII qualifications would be advantageous

Desired Skills and Experience
The purpose of the role is to place Surety and Trade Credit covers for clients and support clients, Sales Executives, and Account Executives and other colleagues to issue bonds to existing and new clients within specified timelines.
Trade credit market knowledge is essential, and knowledge of the surety market would be advantageous.
Attract new clients via sales plans including networking, client and prospect meetings, marketing, and lead generation.
