Trade Finance Transaction Management Specialist - Investment Banking - London - ONSITE

The Role

We have an exciting new opportunity for a Trade Finance Transaction Management Specialist to join Robert Walters as a Consultant.

As a Consultant, you will benefit from permanent employment with Robert Walters and will be deployed on an assignment with one of our clients, a major US Investment Bank. In return we will provide you with the opportunity to develop your skills with ongoing training and professional support.

As a Trade Finance Transaction Management Specialist within the Credit Products Delivery team, you will serve as a middle office transaction management partner for clients of the Corporate & Investment Bank, Commercial Bank and Global Trade Businesses. Your role will involve providing expertise in the negotiation and review of trade facility documentation and managing end-to-end transactions for Core Trade Finance (and Loan) products. You will work closely with the bank's Trade Finance sales and client coverage teams, external legal counsel, and facility agents.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Deliver best-in-class trade finance execution for credit facilities and ancillary legal documentation, particularly for corporate clients, including oversight of the deal closing process
  • Face Clients (or their counsel) in close partnership with Sales, Front Office and Credit to review and support the negotiation of legal documentation across core trade finance products and solutions for EMEA clients, with a focus on bilateral facilities
  • Liaise with internal/external counsel in the review of facility documentation
  • Draw on transactional expertise to suggest solutions for appropriate stakeholders (Sales, Product, Bankers, Credit, Tax, Implementation teams, Ops etc) as necessary, ensuring they are brought into the debate in a timely manner to reach a resolution
  • Manage to the internal controls framework, reporting and escalation for transaction execution, including preparing and coordinating the approval of documentation deviations during negotiations
  • Actively contribute to and drive wider WLS projects & initiatives

Key Skills

  • Advanced technical expertise in trade finance documentation, including credit agreements, legal documentation, negotiation and execution processes.
  • Strong knowledge of trade finance products, transaction management, lending facilities and broader banking operations across Investment Grade and Non-Investment Grade clients.
  • Proven ability to manage complex transactions, identify issues proactively and drive timely resolutions through sound decision-making.
  • Excellent co-ordination, organisational and prioritisation skills, with the ability to perform effectively under pressure and meet demanding deadlines.
  • Strong stakeholder management capabilities, building effective relationships with internal teams, clients, legal counsel and external counterparties.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, with confidence in engaging professionally with Front Office teams and global functional partners.
  • Strategic, adaptable and results-driven professional with a commitment to process improvement, high performance standards and mentoring junior colleagues.
