Salary:
- £61,124 National / £63,189 Croydon & London (3+ years PQE)
- £51,541 (under 3 years PQE)
Civil Service Pension with a 28.97% employer contribution

The Government Legal Department is recruiting up to 10 Trade Lawyers to join advisory trade law teams across government.
This is a rare opportunity to work on legal issues that regularly feature in international negotiations, government policy and global affairs.
Successful candidates may support departments including:
- Department for Business, Innovation, Science and Trade
- HM Treasury
- Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs
- Cabinet Office
- Department for Transport
- Home Office
- Department of Health & Social Care
- Department for Education

The work includes:
- Advising on international trade law and public law.
- Negotiation and implementation of international agreements.

Who are we looking for?
We are keen to hear from lawyers from a range of backgrounds, including:
- Public Law
- Commercial Law
- Regulatory Law
- International Law
- Trade Law
- Government Advisory
- Litigation and Dispute Resolution
Previous trade law experience is advantageous but not essential. Strong legal judgement, analytical ability and an interest in public service are highly valued.
