Role Overview

The Trade Management (TM) team processes transactions for the Name Give Up (NGU) business, as well as Futures: Exchanged-Traded Derivatives (ETD). This role focuses on supporting the Trade Management NGU business.

As a Trade Management (TM) Associate, your responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring the accurate and timely processing of all trades across internal front-end trade capture systems, TM platforms, and eventual delivery to clients (via electronic confirmations, physical allocations, or regulatory filings).
  • Identifying and resolving trade-related issues while demonstrating judgement in escalating complex matters to senior colleagues.
  • Driving process improvements that enhance service delivery and operational controls—acting as first-line defence for trade management integrity.
  • Maintaining a broad knowledge of wholesale financial markets, with potential disciplinary specialisation where required.
  • Understanding Operations and global brokerage strategy, while collaborating efficiently as part of a high-performing team.

Operating under strict service standards, compliance protocols and risk governance, your role spans cross-functional collaboration with desks, brokers, clients, clearing houses, and third-party agents.

Key Responsibilities

Core Duties

  • Ensure seamless trade flow from front-office capture systems through TM infrastructure, delivering transactions to clients, reporting venues, or clearinghouses⁄exchanges in a timely manner.
  • Oversee intra-day trade allocation, liaising with desks, brokers, clients, clearers, and agents to expedite clearing and subsequent reporting processes.
  • Monitor and mitigate intraday liquidity risk and exposure, maintaining regulatory compliance standards.
  • Triage and resolve client-facing queries related to missing or delayed electronic trade confirmations.
  • Maintain awareness of regulatory updates, FATCA, EMIR, and domestic/foreign data requirements, proactively updating the department.
  • Conduct external system oversight (e.g., trading platforms, settlement systems) used by TP ICAP.
  • Validate data integrity by cross-referencing records with third-party broker systems.
  • Execute intraday and month-end reconciliation actions (trade validation, invoicing accuracy, position reporting).
  • Provide front-line Broker support, handling trade exceptions and escalating unresolved issues.
  • Partner with Accounts Receivable to ensure accurate client billing.
  • Serve as a first-point-of-contact for client trade-related issues, escalating where necessary.
  • Assumed additional ad hoc duties as needed to maintain operative continuity.

Experience & Competences

Essential

  • Attention to detail, complemented by exceptional organisation and proactive initiative.
  • Analytical problem-solving skills applied under time pressure.
  • Ability to perform effectively in a high-stress, fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written/verbal communication, with the agility to adapt messaging across diverse audiences.
  • 5+ years in finance, trading operations, or commodities markets, with experience in a comparable mid-large brokerage environment.
  • Strong MS Office proficiency (Excel—bucholting, macros; Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Training/mentoring capability for colleagues.
  • Experience supervising trade operations or similar role.
  • Robust understanding of operational risk and compliance frameworks.
