Team/Role Overview
Join Citi's Global Business Expense Transparency organization as a Capital Markets Business/Data Analyst. You'll drive the development and enhancement of our Trade Cost Calculator and Analytics platform—a best-in-class system providing critical insights into trading costs and activities across global markets. This senior role requires a seasoned capital markets professional who can drive platform strategy, manage complex stakeholder relationships, and deliver sophisticated analytics that optimize transaction expense management across the enterprise.
Key Responsibilities
Platform Leadership & Development
- Lead development initiatives for the VARCITI trade cost analytics platform
- Design and deliver robust trade and cost analytics, including volume profiling, product analysis, and expense trend identification
- Develop and refine reconciliation processes for trade expense analytics against third-party invoices
Strategic Stakeholder Engagement
- Partner with Front Office, Middle Office, Operations, and Technology teams to understand dependencies and design effective metrics
- Provide analytical guidance and strategic recommendations to global efficiency, business transparency, and operations teams
- Communicate confidently with stakeholders at all levels, from trading desks to senior management

Requirements & Project Delivery
- Manage business requirements and projects throughout the software delivery lifecycle, ensuring timely release of new features
- Gather and analyse requirements for new metrics, reporting enhancements, and onboarding requests
- Drive process improvements to increase transparency and accuracy in expense reporting and management intelligence
What we’ll need from you
Experience & Domain Expertise
- Advanced experience in business analysis, trade cost analytics, financial systems, or related fields within competitive, fast-paced environments
- Capital Markets experience with solid understanding of:
- Trading products and trade lifecycle
- Front-to-back office workflows
- Market structure across asset classes (equities, fixed income, FX, derivatives)
Technical Skills
- Strong database development capabilities: RDBMS and NoSQL
- Database administration (DBA) experience and/or certifications
- Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and PowerPoint
- Experience with Qlik/Tableau or similar data visualization tools
- Project management or technology-related qualifications (e.g., Agile, Scrum Master, PMP)
