The Trade Marketing Manager will be responsible for driving sales through devising and implementing innovative and creative activity for trade customers, whilst maintaining brand personality and values and supporting category growth. The role is also designed to deliver on value-add projects to the Portfolio business.
Key Responsibilities
- Key initiative planning, execution & review:
- Development of in-store vision and execution plans on multi-national initiatives that are consistent with local trade structures and support local brand and category development
- Develop execution KPI’s for shopper and trade activity within key markets & customers
- Own an always-current customer commercial calendar, including aligned initiative KPI’s
- Development and implementation of international NPD
- Lead the development of annual NPD plans and innovation, including leading the NPD gate process for innovation in portfolio markets and represent markets as appropriate
- Assess global NPD initiatives to identify relevant innovation plans to launch across the international market portfolio and ensure markets are fully assessed for launch suitability

- Key initiative customer & shopper engagement toolkit
- Creation of high impact, insight-based, cut-through, selling stories tailored appropriately to markets
- Develop and maintain high quality brand asset library including digital assets for Ovo and Twinings and materials such as brochures, trade comms, POS
- Working with the commercial team to develop and produce relevant shopper marketing materials to be deployed through distribution partners
- Manage logistics between markets of support assets
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- 5 years commercial / trade / shopper marketing experience in FMCG environment
- Ability to manage high-impact cross-functional strategic commercial projects.
- Outstanding stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to develop relationships with key functional leads (Finance, Marketing, Operations, Procurement) and external strategic commercial partners.
- Outstanding presentation and communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to identify opportunities and the analytic skills to interpret and translate this into a comprehensive market approach.
- Strong communication skills to convince and persuade internal and external stakeholders and be the focal point for consensus on approaching the market (product, strategy, etc.).
- Must understand channels and additional partnering methods to define the most effective route to market for new products as well as understand the channel demands and optimise the distribution opportunities.
- Strong commercial capability across sales and marketing: brand P&L, marketing tactics ROI, A&P management
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret and execute commercial strategies.
- Ability to manage high-impact cross-functional strategic commercial projects
