The Assembly is a dynamic and forward-thinking independent media company committed to delivering exceptional experiences. Our diverse portfolio includes a range of events that cater to various industries and interests both in trade & consumer markets. Scooping three awards at the Conference & Events Awards 2026, we are now seeking a skilled and motivated Trade Marketing Manager to join our growing team, driving the marketing strategy for one of our new events for 2027 and contributing to the overall success of The Assembly.
Job Summary:
As a Trade Marketing Manager at The Assembly, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the marketing strategy for the inaugural show in 2027 and beyond. This position requires a creative and strategic thinker with a passion for live events. You will be responsible for developing and executing comprehensive marketing campaigns to drive attendance, increase brand awareness, and foster engagement within our target audience.
The role will be based at The Assembly’s HQ in Shenfield, well-positioned for the Elizabeth line and under a 25-minute hop to London, and easily accessible from the M25 & A12.

Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning:
- Develop and implement strategic marketing plans to meet organizational objectives.
- Analyse market trends and competitor activities to identify opportunities and threats.

Brand Management:
- Ensure consistent brand messaging and positioning across all marketing channels.
- Collaborate with internal teams to maintain brand integrity and enhance brand recognition.
Digital Marketing:
- Create, execute and nurture digital marketing campaigns, including social media, email marketing, online and paid advertising.
- Utilise SEO and SEM strategies to optimise online presence and drive traffic to event websites.
- Oversee and nurture the B2B Database to create a highly targeted audience of engaged professionals & decision makers from within the industry.
Content Creation:
- Lead the development of compelling and relevant content for various marketing channels, including blogs, email, social media, and press releases.
- Collaborate with design teams to create visually appealing and effective marketing collateral.
Event Promotion:
- Implement targeted promotion strategies to increase event attendance and engagement.
- Work closely with the design & sales teams to create promotional materials and incentives for sponsors and exhibitors.
- Identify and develop partnerships with key opinion leaders and voices within the industry to drive reach and add credibility to the event.
- Shape collaborations with industry-leading Media partners and credible organisations to amplify the shows reach and authority.
- Leverage tailored Marketing tactics such as Direct Mail and the strategic support of telemarketers to refine and reach the target audience.
- Promote the event schedule & stage content.
Analytics and Reporting:
- Monitor and analyse the performance of marketing campaigns, providing regular reports and insights.
- Track and Report on registration and event attendee insights, managing the ticket platform for the event.
- Use data-driven insights to optimise marketing strategies and improve ROI.
Budget Management:
- Set & implement marketing budgets and ensure KPI’s are met, and OPEX maximised across the event

Target:
- Meet a pre-show number for audience registrations.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience across relevant marketing roles.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in digital marketing tools and analytics platforms.
- Experience managing social handles, monitoring metrics, and guiding growth.
- Confidence in forming and maintaining strong relationships with external partners & sponsors.
- Experience in the Trade events & exhibitions space would be advantageous.
