Trade Marketing Manager | FMCG Brand
Location: London/Hybrid, 2 days onsite
Salary: £50-60k + bonus
About the Role
I’m working on a Trade Marketing Manager role for an established FMCG brand going through a major period of growth and change.
This is a new role with plenty of freedom to make it your own. There isn’t an existing trade marketing function or a set way of doing things, they want someone who can come in, spot the opportunities and build it.
Sitting between Marketing and Sales, you’ll take everything happening across the brand and turn it into activity that works for retailers and gets customers buying. That could mean creating better POS, launching a sampling campaign, improving how products show up in-store or giving Sales the tools they need to win more support from retailers.
Why this role
- Established FMCG business with strong heritage, but a much more ambitious and modern direction
- Brand-new role with the opportunity to build the trade marketing approach from the ground up
- Freedom to bring ideas to the table and turn them into activity
- Chance to make a visible difference across some of the business’s most important retail partners
- Broad role covering in-store activation, POS, sampling, promotions, events and retailer communications
- Close exposure to Marketing, Sales, Category and senior leadership (the people are a big selling point!)
- Growing marketing team with new people, ideas and investment coming into the business.
- Longer-term opportunity to support the brand’s move into wholesale and grocery

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
