Job Title

Sitting at the heart of the Argos business, Trade Planning connects the moving parts that help turn strategy into action.

As a Trade Planning Assistant, you'll work across Commercial, Digital, Marketing, Retail and Supply Chain, helping to coordinate priorities, identify opportunities and ensure we execute brilliantly for customers. From supporting weekly trade priorities and analysing competitor activity to coordinating business-wide planning, you'll help ensure we're focused on the right opportunities and responding quickly to an ever-changing retail landscape.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working at pace, loves solving problems and wants broad exposure across the Argos business.

What you'll do

  • Support the delivery of the weekly trade plan, helping to coordinate priorities, manage critical paths and ensure the business is aligned behind what matters most.
  • Lead our Competitor Analysis Hub activity, capturing market insight, identifying opportunities and highlighting emerging trends that can influence both short and long-term plans.
  • Support the operational delivery of the Business Priority List (BPL), ensuring updates, submissions and actions are communicated clearly and delivered on time.
  • Work closely with Marketing and a wide range of cross-functional teams to ensure plans are executed seamlessly and our priorities are translated into action.
  • Review performance, identify risks and opportunities, and help recommend actions that improve execution, customer outcomes and commercial performance.
  • Look for ways to improve processes, simplify ways of working and support continuous improvement across Trade Planning activity.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
