Are you passionate about building customer relationships, developing new business, and delivering commercial success in the construction products market?

ASSA ABLOY is the global leader in access solutions, helping billions of people experience a more open world. We are looking for a commercially driven and customer-focused Trade Sales Manager to join our growing UK & Ireland sales team, covering South East England.

In this role, you will be responsible for driving growth across our supply-only product portfolio, developing relationships with trade customers, distributors, contractors, and specialist subcontractors. You will manage your own sales territory, identify new business opportunities, prepare quotations, negotiate commercial agreements, and support customers throughout the sales process.

You'll thrive in an autonomous and fast-paced sales environment where you can take ownership of your territory, build long-term customer partnerships, and contribute to the continued growth of a market-leading business. With strong internal support, established target markets, and comprehensive product training, you will have the tools and resources needed to succeed.

What you will do as our Trade Sales Manager

As our Trade Sales Manager, you will take ownership of the South East territory, focusing primarily on developing new business opportunities while also growing existing customer relationships. Working closely with commercial, technical, and sales colleagues, you will help deliver commercially successful solutions that meet customer requirements.

You will also:

  • Achieve and exceed agreed order intake and revenue targets by identifying, developing, and securing new trade customers within the supply-only market.
  • Build, manage, and convert a healthy pipeline of opportunities, proactively following up quotations and securing new orders.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with contractors, specialist subcontractors, distributors, and trade customers across your territory.
  • Prepare accurate and timely quotations, ensuring customer requirements and product specifications are fully understood and met.
  • Negotiate pricing and commercial terms within agreed guidelines to deliver commercially successful outcomes for both customers and the business.
  • Monitor market developments, competitor activity, and customer requirements to identify growth opportunities and support business strategy.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of our product portfolio, particularly steel door solutions, while collaborating closely with technical, estimating, drawing office, service, and commercial teams to deliver excellent customer outcomes.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

The skills and experience you need

We are looking for someone who has:

  • Experience in sales, business development, territory management, or account management within construction products, building materials, or a related industry.
  • A proven track record of achieving or exceeding sales and revenue targets.
  • Experience identifying, developing, and converting new business opportunities.
  • Experience managing a sales pipeline and using CRM systems effectively.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage effectively with customers and stakeholders.
  • A valid driving license and willingness to travel across the South East region.

The ideal candidate is commercially minded, self-motivated, and customer-focused, with the ability to balance customer requirements and business objectives. You enjoy developing new business relationships, managing your own territory, and taking ownership of your sales performance while collaborating effectively with colleagues across the wider business. You are confident managing quotations, pricing discussions, and commercial negotiations and are comfortable understanding technical product information and customer requirements.

Experience within steel doors, timber doors, windows, architectural ironmongery, access solutions, building products, merchanting, or other construction-related sectors would be advantageous. However, full product training will be provided, so we welcome applications from commercially focused sales professionals with relevant transferable experience.
