Koch Minerals & Trading (KM&T) is seeking a contribution-minded Metals Middle Office Analyst to join our Metals CFO team in London.
In this role, you will operate across both Metals Product Control and Metals Operations, partnering closely with traders, operations, and finance teams to deliver trusted insights on positions, profit and loss, risk, and working capital. You will help the business make better decisions, identify opportunities, and improve efficiency throughout the trade lifecycle.
This position offers the opportunity to develop a deep understanding of physical and financial metals trading while helping scale capability through improved controls, analytics, data management, and automation.
What You Will Do
Business Partnership & Commercial Insight
- Partner with traders and commercial leaders to explain drivers of P&L and positions, highlight key risks and themes, and support decision-making across daily, monthly, and quarterly cycles.
- Deliver meaningful analysis to improve understanding of performance, exposures, and portfolio dynamics.
- Build trusted relationships across trading, finance, operations, and risk teams by clearly connecting financial results to commercial activity.
Controls & Financial Integrity
- Support the integrity of the trading book through balance sheet substantiation and effective controls over positions, accruals, inventories, warrants, and margins.
- Identify control gaps across trade capture, valuation, and operational processes and implement improvements that reduce risk and improve efficiency.
- Assist with accurate and timely close processes by investigating exceptions, resolving discrepancies, and escalating issues when appropriate.

Trade Operations & Lifecycle Execution
- Support key operational processes including settlements, reconciliations, contract administration, margining, warrant and physical processing, and client servicing activities.
- Collaborate with commercial and operations teams to proactively address potential issues, improve reliability, and enhance client outcomes.
Transformation & Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities to automate manual processes and improve workflows, allowing for greater focus on value-added analysis.
- Support projects and business initiatives involving new products, reporting enhancements, process improvements, and operational capabilities.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
- Analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to work with large datasets and reconcile complex positions.
- Problem-solving and critical-thinking capabilities.
- Effective communication skills and an ability to collaborate across multiple functions.
What Will Put You Ahead
- Experience using SQL, Python, VBA, or similar analytical and automation tools.
- Experience in commodities, metals, trading, financial markets, product control, operations, or risk management environments.
- Demonstrated ability to improve processes through automation, analytics, or systems enhancements.
- Interest in developing expertise in metals and global commodity markets.
