Job Purpose

This is a front-office analytical generalist role within the OTC Trading business, spanning trade and product support, platform support, new product implementation, business management, capital analysis, and process improvement. The role is designed to give the successful candidate broad exposure to the operating model of an institutional OTC derivatives business, with the expectation that they will progressively take ownership of one or more functional areas over time.

Candidate Profile

This role is suited to a high-calibre analytical generalist with strong intellectual curiosity, sound judgement, and the ability to become effective quickly in unfamiliar subject matter. The ideal candidate may not yet be a specialist in OTC derivatives, but will be able to absorb complexity, ask good questions, structure problems clearly, and build credibility with Trading, Quant, Risk, Treasury, Operations, Technology, and Compliance colleagues. Over time, the successful candidate will be expected to develop deeper ownership of one or more functional areas.

Responsibilities

Across all areas, the role requires strong analytical judgement, intellectual curiosity, the ability to learn unfamiliar products and systems quickly, and the confidence to operate in an evolving front-office environment where responsibilities may not always be neatly defined.

Business Management

  • Support capital management activities, including funding, FX exposure, liquidity management, intercompany capital flows, and related analysis, working closely with Treasury teams.
  • Build and maintain reporting that helps management understand trading activity, revenues, return on capital, capital utilisation, and business performance.
  • Analyse data, identify trends, explain drivers, and help convert business information into actionable management insight.
  • Prepare materials for management meetings, governance forums, and strategic business reviews.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
