Trade Surveillance Lead
We are working with a leading global multi-strategy hedge fund to appoint a Trade Surveillance Lead to join its Compliance team. This is a newly created role offering the opportunity to take ownership of key aspects of the firm's trade surveillance programme, helping to identify market abuse risks and enhance the effectiveness of surveillance controls across the business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the ongoing development, testing, and calibration of the firm's trade surveillance framework.
- Review and investigate surveillance alerts, assessing potential market abuse and other conduct risks.
- Analyse trading activity, communications, and related data to identify unusual or suspicious behaviour.
- Prepare investigation reports and maintain robust surveillance records.
- Produce management reporting and trend analysis on surveillance activity and emerging risks.
- Assist with the firm's Market Abuse Risk Assessment (MARA) and broader market conduct framework.
- Partner with Compliance, Technology, and Data teams to improve surveillance processes and controls.
- Support regulatory enquiries, audits, and internal reviews.

Skills & Experience:
- Experience in trade surveillance, market abuse compliance, market conduct monitoring, or a related compliance function.
- Strong understanding of UK and EU Market Abuse Regulation (MAR).
- Experience working with trade surveillance systems within an investment manager, hedge fund, broker-dealer, or regulatory environment.
- Strong analytical, investigative, and communication skills.
- Detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable engaging with stakeholders across the business.
