We're partnering with a leading global hedge fund to support its European trade and transaction reporting function.
The firm has mature reporting processes and infrastructure in place. It is looking for a hands-on analyst to support the daily accuracy, completeness and timeliness of reporting under at least one major European regime: SFTR, EMIR or MiFID II/MiFIR transaction reporting.
You will work closely with the obligation owner and senior subject-matter experts. You will manage BAU exceptions, investigate data issues and support regulatory change. The role suits someone with solid operational reporting experience who wants to build towards a business analysis or subject-matter expert role.
The role is based full-time in the firm's London office.
Key Responsibilities
- Run and monitor daily BAU reporting for an assigned obligation under SFTR, EMIR or MiFID II/MiFIR.
- Investigate and resolve exceptions, rejections, breaks, and pairing and matching issues with trade repositories and ARMs.
- Track aged exceptions and escalate items that fall outside agreed tolerances.
- Produce daily, weekly and monthly MI on reporting completeness, accuracy and timeliness.
- Perform reconciliations between internal systems, vendors and trade repositories, and investigate the differences.
- Carry out root-cause analysis on recurring issues and work with Operations and Technology to fix them.
- Raise, document and track Jira tickets through to resolution.
- Support regulatory change by helping with requirements, writing test cases, running UAT and checking results after go-live.
- Maintain procedures, reportability logic notes and field-mapping documentation.
- Help prepare responses to queries from Compliance, counterparties, trade repositories and service providers.
- Keep up to date with regulatory updates and flag potential impacts to senior team members.
- Suggest process and control improvements based on BAU trends.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
