Trade Mark Senior Paralegal – Leading IP Practice – London / Belfast / Leeds / Manchester – Permanent

A leading UK & EU intellectual property practice is seeking a Senior Trade Mark Paralegal to join its highly regarded IP team on a permanent basis. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced trade mark professional to play a central role in helping clients protect and maximise the value of their brands, both in the UK and internationally.

Working closely with Trade Mark Attorneys, Solicitors, clients and overseas associates, you will be involved in a diverse range of matters spanning portfolio management, brand protection, trade mark prosecution and contentious work, for a client base ranging from household brands to pioneering start-ups.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing UK, EU and international trade mark portfolios, ensuring deadlines, records and actions are maintained accurately
  • Preparing draft specifications and coordinating filings across multiple jurisdictions
  • Coordinating filing programmes, including applications, renewals, assignments, licences and ownership changes
  • Assisting with examination report responses and post-filing requirements
  • Contributing to contentious matters, including oppositions, invalidations and revocations, and preparing supporting evidence
  • Producing portfolio reports, status updates and other client-facing materials
  • Building effective relationships with clients, overseas associates and colleagues across the firm

About You:

  • Minimum five years' experience in a Trade Mark Paralegal, Senior Trade Mark Paralegal or similar portfolio management role
  • Strong technical knowledge of trade mark prosecution, portfolio management and brand protection across the UK, EU and international markets
  • Proven capability managing filings, renewals, ownership changes and clearance searches
  • Exposure to contentious matters would be a strong advantage
  • Excellent drafting, analytical and communication skills
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines
  • CITMA qualified, or working towards it, beneficial
  • Familiarity with portfolio management systems (e.g. Anaqua) and search platforms (e.g. Fovea) advantageous
