Systematic Trader - Algo Monitoring

An established quantitative investment firm is building a centralised global trading oversight team to support its systematic strategies around the clock.

This is a varied role combining live trading supervision, risk monitoring and operational problem-solving. You will work closely with trading, technology and operations teams to keep strategies running smoothly, respond to incidents and manage issues as they arise.

The position also has a strong technical element. You will be encouraged to use Python to automate processes and improve the tools used to monitor trading activity.

  • Monitoring live positions, P&L, exposures and risk limits
  • Investigating trading alerts and escalating issues appropriately
  • Overseeing the health and performance of systematic strategies
  • Carrying out hedging, trade booking and other time-sensitive actions
  • Supporting position rolls, option expiries and corporate actions
  • Acting as a point of contact for internal teams and market counterparties
  • Developing scripts and tools to improve monitoring and operational workflows
  • Supporting the launch and ongoing coverage of new products and markets

We are looking for:

  • A degree in a quantitative, technical or closely related subject
  • Practical Python programming skills are a must have
  • Strong judgement and the ability to remain composed when responding to live issues
  • Clear communication skills and the confidence to work with teams across different regions
  • A proactive approach to identifying and improving inefficient processes
  • An interest in electronic or systematic trading environments

Previous experience in trading, risk, middle office, trade support or production monitoring would be advantageous.

Please note that this position operates on a shift-based schedule to provide 24/7 global coverage, including some weekend and public holiday coverage.
