Are you an experienced commercial trader with a passion for delivering growth, building strategic supplier partnerships, and bringing great products to millions of customers? We're looking for a Trading Manager to join our Frozen team at Asda. This is an opportunity to take ownership of a strategically important category, working with some of the UK's best-loved brands and leading suppliers to drive sales, profitability, and customer satisfaction.
As a Trading Manager, you'll be responsible for developing and delivering category strategies that outperform the market, maximise commercial performance, and ensure customers receive exceptional value. You'll work cross-functionally with teams across Commercial, Supply Chain, Finance, Marketing and Insights, while building strong relationships with external suppliers to drive mutual growth.
What you'll be doing
- Owning the end-to-end trading performance of the Frozen category, delivering sales, profit and market share growth.
- Developing and executing category plans that meet customer needs and support Asda's wider commercial strategy.
- Leading negotiations with suppliers to secure the best commercial outcomes across pricing, promotions, product range and investment.
- Managing and optimising category P&L performance, balancing customer value with commercial returns.
- Analysing market trends, competitor activity and customer insights to identify growth opportunities.
- Building strong supplier partnerships and delivering joint business plans that support long-term success.
- Monitoring key commodity movements and market drivers, translating insights into effective trading strategies.
- Driving cost-to-serve and efficiency programmes with suppliers to support sustainable value for customers.
- Collaborating with internal stakeholders to deliver innovative category initiatives and exceptional customer experiences.

What you'll bring
- Significant experience in a commercial trading, buying or category management role.
- Strong negotiation and influencing skills, with a track record of delivering commercial results.
- Experience managing category budgets, sales performance and P&L accountability.
- Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to turn data and market insights into actionable plans.
- Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to build effective relationships at all levels.
- A customer-first mindset, combined with commercial curiosity and a passion for winning in the market.
- The ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic retail environment.
