Trades & Labour Recruiter

Location: Hemel Hempstead
Salary: £35,000

Are you an experienced construction recruiter looking to move away from sales targets and commission-driven recruitment?

We’re recruiting for a Trades & Labour Recruiter to join a highly respected national plant hire and haulage organisation. You’ll focus on sourcing, onboarding, and coordinating skilled operatives for major projects across the UK.

This is a busy, people-focused role where you’ll build strong talent pipelines, support workforce planning, and ensure the right operatives are available when projects need them.

Key Responsibilities

  • Source and engage skilled trades, labour, and plant operatives
  • Grow and maintain an active candidate database
  • Manage candidate screening, compliance, inductions, and onboarding
  • Coordinate the timely placement of operatives across UK projects
  • Handle high-volume calls and communication with candidates and site teams
  • Maintain accurate candidate and workforce information across internal systems
  • Build strong relationships with operational teams and external stakeholders
  • Work towards agreed resourcing and candidate pipeline KPIs

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
