Description

About the Role
As our Multiskilled Tradesperson, you will carry out planned and reactive maintenance across Bath Spa University’s residential, academic and commercial buildings. The role will involve a wide range of building fabric repairs, including carpentry, decorating, minor plumbing, tiling and plastering, as well as supporting fire safety compliance through fire door inspections and fire stopping repairs. You will diagnose defects, work closely with Estates colleagues and specialist contractors, and provide excellent customer service to staff, students and building users. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the upkeep and improvement of a diverse estate, including historic and listed buildings.
About You
- Trade qualification.
- Recent maintenance work experience.
- H&S systems experience (RAMS, site inductions etc.)
- IT literate
- H&S training (IPAF, PASMA etc.)
- Building management system experience.
- Safety systems testing experience.

Additional Information
Salary: Grade 5 - Starting from £29,588 rising to £33,002 per annum
The salary range shows the potential maximum pay progression in addition to any annual inflationary increase to your pay. Please note that our default position is to appoint into the lower end of the range, unless there are exceptional circumstances.
Please note that as of April 2024, there has been a change in the UK’s sponsorship threshold. Regrettably as the salary for this role falls beneath this, you will not be eligible for sponsorship therefore your application will automatically be rejected.
UK driving licence required. The role involves working across multiple campuses and undertaking a range of practical maintenance tasks, including occasional work at height and in restricted-access areas. Relevant training will be provided where required.
The post holder will be required to visit all parts of the University’s estate to inspect work carried out and assess needs that arise, this may involve entering roof spaces, cellars and other relatively inaccessible places. An appropriate level of physical fitness is required.
