An established international energy trading business is looking to hire a Trading Analyst to join its expanding Biofuels division in London.
This position offers the opportunity to develop specialist expertise in biofuels sustainability, working closely with trading, operations and commercial teams across an international business. The business is open to candidates at different levels of experience, including junior professionals with relevant sustainability exposure and a genuine interest in developing their careers within biofuels.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage sustainability mass balance accounting across biofuels transactions, ensuring accurate tracking and reconciliation of sustainable feedstocks and products.
- Collect, review, and maintain sustainability documentation for inbound and outbound transactions, ensuring compliance with applicable certification schemes and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate certification activities, support sustainability audits, and work with suppliers, counterparties, and internal trading teams to ensure feedstock traceability.
- Monitor regulatory developments and support the implementation of sustainability requirements, processes, and digital reporting systems.
- Work closely with Trading, Operations, Logistics, Biorefineries, and Back Office teams on sustainability-related matters.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
