POSITION SUMMARY
This role will give the right person excellent career growth through exposure to senior leadership, diversity of trading and a focus on learning & development. You'll focus on a mixture of trading (currency, sugar, commodities and energy etc) as well as reporting on pricing & market updates.
POSITION SCOPE
- To support the Global Sugars Group’s (GSG) ITAS and SAP systems and to ensure they are correct
- To support the integrity of the GSG trading books
- To ensure data is inputted correctly to SAP and ITAS and to maintain the accuracy of the interface between SAP and ITAS
- To review and support GSG London in creation, execution and filing of raw sugar contracts, deeds and addendums
- To be able to execute FX and F&O trades externally in the financial markets
- To be able to run and edit the desks complex excel reports
- To open all new sales in ITAS and SAP for the desk from the Sales team
- To send all daily reports to the company from the desk

POSITION STRATEGIC OBJECTIVES AND KEY DELIVERABLES
- Smooth and accurate running of the GSG SAP & ITAS system
- Promote understanding of ASR’s way of working and systems where appropriate.
- Ensure all trades are recorded throughout the day
- Assist in developing strong relationships with all relevant suppliers and consumers
- Client satisfaction
- No breaches or failures in complying with TLS/ASR Risk Policy, Treasury policy and other internal and external requirements.
- Good inter-company relationships.
DETAILED ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Enter and maintain contracts with particular attention to the flow of entries required to properly track London and Lisbon refinery sales back to the GSG book
- Assist GSG to ensure ITAS and other systems properly reflect GSG positions
- To provide cover for the Manager, Derivatives Trading (MDT) and in their absence, to accurately execute futures and currency trades as required from physical sales and customers
- Participate in ITAS training for the GSG team
- Have involvement in development of system improvements as mandated by the business
- Ensure up to date contracts are signed with all counterparties and that those contracts are in line with ESH and ASR policy
- Assist in the analysis of the GSG book and illustrate how the traders can save/make money through efficiencies in the book.
- Assist shipping operations/customer service with running and communicating shipping programs for GSG counterparties for white sugar.
- Liaise with and provide support to the refinery sales teams; ensure their sales to come are communicated to the MDT at least fortnightly for inclusion in the Guide to Buyer.
- Liaise with trading desk to review pending contracts. Monitor their passage through the legal and approval processes, file and ensure a complete record is maintained.

Risk Accountabilities
- Comply with the Trading Risk Policy
- Identify material risks inherent and communicate counterparty credit events to Risk management and GSG.
- Manage the submission if counterparty information to Risk management for credit analysis and review purposes
- Assist in the proactive monitoring of risk exposure as limits are being approached or in anticipation of planned transactions that would increase risk exposure beyond established risk tolerances
- Assist in the obtaining of approval from Legal and Compliance for any risk- associated changes to standard contractual terms.
ESSENTIAL CAPABILITIES (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES)
- Good knowledge of sugar contract terms (SAL, RSAL, ICE) including good knowledge of terms of sales / buyers / constraints / anomalies in the sugar trade (preferable but not essential)
- Good communication, presentation, influencing, interpersonal and numerate skills.
- Attention to detail and time management
- Highly organised
- A real team player
- Strong Excel knowledge (writing Macros preferable)
- Ability to work under pressure
- Strong problem solving skills
