Trading Manager

At Morrisons, we are proud to be The Market Street Grocer. As a Trading Manager, you won't be stuck behind a desk. You’ll lead on the shop floor, driving commercial strategy, managing your team, and keeping that legendary trade-day energy alive.

Reporting to the Store Manager, you’ll take full ownership of your trading departments to maximize sales, stock availability, and retail standards, coaching your team to deliver exceptional service every day.

What you'll be doing day-to-day:

  • Mastering Commercials: Owning sales, inventory, stock control, and labor to maximize profitability and reduce shrink.
  • Creating Retail Theatre: Driving visual merchandising, promotions, and seasonal setups to display our range at its best.
  • Leading the Team: Inspiring and developing Team Managers and Assistants across your departments.
  • Operational Standards: Maintaining high health, safety, legal compliance, and stock accuracy standards.
  • Bringing the Floor to Life: Encouraging customer engagement and an authentic "shopkeeper" experience.

About You

You are a high-energy leader passionate about commercial growth, operational excellence, and the dynamic environment of fresh and ambient retail.

  • Commercial Mindset: Strong understanding of sales forecasting, shrink management, space productivity, and high-volume stock control.
  • Proven Leadership: Experience in high-volume retail, fast-moving consumer goods, or commercial operations where driving trade is key.
  • Hands-on Attitude: You thrive on the fast-paced energy of the morning set-up and love interacting with colleagues and customers.
  • Superb Relationship Builder: Able to command respect from diverse teams and collaborate tightly with store leadership.
