The Trading Manager – Weight Management Services (WMS)
The Trading Manager – Weight Management Services (WMS) is responsible for leading the commercial performance of the WMS portfolio across both in-store and online channels.
This role owns the delivery of revenue, margin, retention and participation targets, while driving growth through an optimised service proposition and strong ancillary product performance.
The role translates WMS strategy into clear trading and operational priorities, working cross-functionally to maximise performance across the end-to-end customer journey.
As the central point of accountability for WMS trading, the role represents performance at senior forums and ensures the service remains competitive, customer-centric and commercially strong.
Primary Accountabilities / Responsibilities
- Own and deliver revenue, margin, retention and participation targets for Weight Management Services across all channels
- Drive uptake and participation of WMS through targeted trading plans and performance interventions
- Drive ancillary product growth for both new and existing WMS patients, maximising lifetime value
- Devise and lead the WMS strategy, translating into clear, actionable priorities for trading and operations
- Own pricing strategy and all commercial elements of the WMS offer, ensuring competitiveness and profitability
- Continuously review and enhance the WMS proposition to meet customer needs and market expectations
- Develop and manage partnerships to strengthen and expand the WMS proposition
- Engage with manufacturers to enhance service offering, including education, training and product knowledge
- Identify and unlock new opportunities to drive growth through partnerships and innovation
- Challenge Operations to improve execution, participation and overall service performance
- Partner with operations, marketing, supply chain and risk teams to improve performance and optimise delivery
- Ensure alignment between trading activity, customer proposition and operational capability
- Represent WMS performance at senior forums (e.g., Trade meetings, SteerCo), providing clear insight, actions and recommendations
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity and customer behaviours, acting quickly to optimise performance
- Act as the escalation point for WMS trading and performance issues, ensuring timely resolution

Knowledge, Skills & Experience
Commercial & Trading Expertise
- Strong commercial acumen with experience owning revenue, margin and pricing strategy
- Proven ability to develop and execute trading strategies within healthcare, retail or service environments
- Experience managing and growing subscription or patient-based service models
Performance & Insight
- Highly analytical with the ability to interpret data and translate into clear, actionable insight
- Strong understanding of customer behaviour, particularly within health or weight management services
- Track record of improving performance through data-led decision making and rapid intervention
Stakeholder Management & Partnerships
- Experience working cross-functionally across operations, marketing, supply chain and risk
- Strong ability to influence and challenge stakeholders to drive improved outcomes
- Experience managing external partners, including manufacturers or healthcare providers
