We’re working with a globally recognised financial markets organisation at the heart of the international industrial metals market. They’re looking for a Trading Operations & Pricing Associate to join their London team, supporting the operation of one of the world’s most important metals trading venues. This is a specialist opportunity for someone with experience in a trading, exchange or market environment who is interested in the mechanics of price discovery, electronic trading and financial market infrastructure.

The Role

You’ll play a key role in the day-to-day oversight of trading activity across both the Ring and electronic trading platform, helping ensure that the market operates efficiently, fairly and in accordance with the relevant rules and regulations. A significant part of the role will involve the determination and management of the exchange’s reference and settlement prices, making this an excellent opportunity to develop deep expertise in how prices are established across global commodities markets. You’ll also work closely with teams including Market Surveillance, Trading Operations and senior stakeholders, while gaining exposure to a broad range of trading processes and functions.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Provide effective first-line supervision of trading activity across the Ring and electronic trading platform
  • Participate in the determination of the exchange's Official, Closing and Settlement Prices
  • Contribute to the Pricing Committee responsible for determining reference prices
  • Ensure pricing procedures meet both commercial and regulatory requirements
  • Apply and enforce relevant dealing regulations and codes of conduct
  • Participate in disciplinary processes relating to trading rule breaches
  • Manage procedures relating to Error Trades and Dynamic Price Bands
  • Determine Closing Prices for Traded Options, taking account of relevant market activity and participant submissions
  • Support compliance with Benchmark Regulation requirements
  • Monitor trading activity and provide relevant observations and referrals to Market Surveillance
  • Respond to stakeholder queries relating to pricing procedures and Trading Operations
  • Contribute to projects designed to improve price discovery and trading processes
  • Provide training and education to colleagues on price discovery across Futures and Options
  • Work across different venues and functions within Trading Operations to build a broad understanding of the business

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
