ABOUT QOMPYL
Qompyl is an early-stage fintech startup building a no-code platform that enables users to create, backtest, analyze, and monitor trading strategies.
Our mission is to make sophisticated quantitative trading tools more intuitive, visual, and accessible. We are developing a platform where accuracy, data integrity, and sound financial logic are essential to delivering a reliable and trustworthy user experience.
ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for a Trading Specialist – Product Quality & Validation with deep practical knowledge of trading, financial markets, and investment strategies.
The primary focus of this role is to test and validate Qompyl from a trader’s perspective. You will use your trading expertise to assess whether strategies, backtests, price points, portfolio calculations, performance metrics, and other platform results are financially accurate, realistic, and trustworthy.
You will also apply a structured approach to testing user flows, documenting issues, validating fixes, and supporting release readiness.
Previous formal experience in software Quality Control is valuable but not required. We are primarily looking for a strong trader with the analytical mindset, attention to detail, and curiosity needed to thoroughly test a fintech product.
You will work closely with Qompyl’s product, engineering, data, and trading contributors to identify issues, validate expected behavior, and help establish the quality standards required for a reliable trading platform.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
TRADING AND FINANCIAL VALIDATION
- Test Qompyl’s strategy-building, analysis, and backtesting workflows from an experienced trader’s perspective.
- Validate entries, exits, price points, order logic, position sizing, and portfolio allocations.
- Verify profit and loss calculations, returns, drawdowns, volatility, and other portfolio and performance metrics.
- Confirm that fees, transaction costs, market-data inputs, and execution assumptions are correctly reflected in strategy results.
- Assess whether backtesting results are financially reasonable and consistent with expected market behavior.
- Identify discrepancies involving trading logic, historical data, financial calculations, or platform behavior.
- Validate the accuracy and consistency of financial data, charts, reports, and strategy outputs.
- Identify edge cases and realistic market scenarios that should be incorporated into the testing process.
- Help define expected trading behavior and acceptance criteria for new product features.
- Provide practical feedback on the platform’s usability, clarity, usefulness, and credibility for traders.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

WORKING AT QOMPYL
You will work closely with Qompyl’s product, engineering, data, and trading contributors to ensure the platform is financially accurate, technically reliable, and genuinely useful to traders.
This role requires curiosity, precision, ownership, and healthy skepticism. We are looking for someone who will not simply confirm that a feature functions, but will question whether its behavior and results make sense in real trading scenarios.
