Are you an experienced Trading Standards professional ready to take on a strategic leadership role and help shape the future of regulatory services?

Hampshire Trading Standards Service is seeking an ambitious, innovative and forward-thinking Trading Standards Manager to join our Leadership Team at a pivotal time for the organisation. This is a unique opportunity to lead high-performing teams, drive service improvement, and influence how we protect consumers, support businesses and deliver public value across Hampshire. As we prepare for Local Government Reorganisation and the evolving challenges facing regulatory services, we're looking for a leader who is passionate about making a difference, embraces change, and is ready to help build a modern, intelligence-led service fit for the future.

What you’ll do:

  • Play a key role in the Leadership Team, using your professional knowledge, combined with local and national data and intelligence, to inform, shape and deliver a variety of interventions and investigations, targeting resources to best effect and ensuring that we deliver against our delivery plan and strategic priorities.
  • Your role within the team, working with colleagues, will shape the service and embed change, driving efficiency and best practice.

What we’re looking for:

  • With specialist knowledge and experience, you will lead a multi-disciplinary team, working closely with the Head of Trading Standards and other colleagues and specialists across the service, to deliver a programme of work primarily in relation to Food, Feed and Animal Health.
  • The role will require direct line management of Senior Trading Standards Officers within a team of Trading Standards Officers and Support Officers/Apprentices.
