About the Role

We are recruiting for Traffic Management (TM) Civils Operatives to join us here at Octavius to help develop our own in-house traffic management capability as Octavius are now accredited to 12D standard. Octavius is a leading civil engineering organisation delivering safe, sustainable, and efficient transport solutions across the UK.

This is an exciting new role encompassing both classic civils works as well as TM responsibilities and we will support training as required and offer a varied and rewarding career path. We are looking for several people to support long-term local projects in the following areas - Sussex, Dorset, Hampshire, Somerset, Bristol, and Plymouth.

Your Role and Responsibility

  • To install, maintain and remove traffic management on rural and urban roads (low-speed roads, Lantra 12D), ensuring that it meets the required standard, inform motorists clearly, and keep pedestrians and our workforce safe.
  • Supporting our civils team on long-term frameworks in Somerset, Dorset, Hampshire, West and East Sussex, and the South West. Ensure pedestrian routes are safe, well-maintained, and accessible. Boundary fencing is kept secure, and barriers are maintained.
  • Usually working as part of a two-person team, installing traffic management in advance of the site team and removing it after the end of their shift.
  • Carrying out maintenance checks and maintaining traffic management as required throughout the shift.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
