Traffic Management Manager - M6 Lune Gorge Project
Join Kier Transportation as a Traffic Management Manager on the high-profile M6 Lune Gorge project based in Tebay. This is a fantastic opportunity to lead the planning, design and delivery of traffic management solutions on a major highways scheme, ensuring safe, efficient operations while building strong relationships with clients, stakeholders and project teams.
Location: Tebay – hybrid working
Hours: 45 hours per week - some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us
Salary: £55,000 to £63,000 per year + private healthcare + £5,900 annual car allowance

What will you be responsible for?
As a Traffic Management Manager, you'll be working within the M6 Lune Gorge Project Team, supporting them in delivering safe and compliant traffic management solutions. Your day-to-day will include:
- Supporting the Traffic Management Lead and Project Director in managing all traffic management requirements for the M6 project
- Preparing, reviewing and approving method statements, risk assessments and traffic management drawings
- Chairing liaison meetings with police, contractors, clients and stakeholders
- Conducting independent audits of network traffic management and traffic safety
- Overseeing project costs and maintaining robust control of expenditure and forecasts

What are we looking for?
This role of Traffic Management Manager is ideal for someone who:
- Has relevant traffic management qualifications, including NHSS 12A Foreman, NHSS 12A TSCO/TSS, NHSS 12D M7, SSSTS, CSCS and IHE Diploma
- Has proven experience in traffic management operations and planning, with a strong understanding of traffic management design, implementation and compliance
- Has excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly set priorities, communicate expectations and coordinate effectively with multiple stakeholders
- Has strong leadership and people management capabilities, including team development, delegation, performance management and motivating high-performing teams
- Has a National Highways Passport and a solid understanding of the highways and infrastructure sector, including relevant safety standards and industry best practice
