Position Overview

We are looking for 3 Traffic Management Operatives to join our Alba Traffic Management team based in the Newburgh, Fife.

This is a hands-on role where you will support the delivery of temporary traffic management on both high and low speed roads. Working as part of the team, you will help ensure traffic management systems are installed, maintained and removed safely and efficiently, contributing to the safe movement of road users and the successful delivery of our projects.

You will be required to work shifts (evenings/nightshift/weekends) and although overtime is not guaranteed, you will be required to work additional hours where necessary. You may also be required to be on-call.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain and remove temporary traffic management systems on both high and low speed roads
  • Set up and dismantle traffic management equipment, including cones, signs, barriers, frames, sandbags and temporary traffic lights
  • Carry out all work safely and in accordance with Company policies, industry standards and the relevant National Highways Sector Scheme requirements
  • Conduct routine inspections of traffic management equipment to ensure it is safe, serviceable and fit for use
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to deliver traffic management projects safely, efficiently and on time
  • Follow all health, safety and environmental procedures, ensuring the safety of colleagues, road users and members of the public
  • Complete vehicle, equipment and site checks, reporting any defects or issues promptly
  • Respond to planned and reactive traffic management requirements, including emergency call outs where required
  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping for vehicles, equipment and work areas
  • Represent Alba Traffic Management professionally, providing excellent customer service when interacting with clients, contractors and the public
  • Participate in shift working, including evenings, nights, weekends and on call duties as required
  • Take part in training and development activities to maintain and enhance skills and qualifications

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • Previous experience working on highways is desirable, with knowledge of the construction industry being advantageous
  • Lantra 12D or 12A/B qualifications are desirable, however full training and development will be provided for candidates who demonstrate the right skills and aptitude
  • A full UK driving licence is essential
  • An HGV licence is advantageous
  • A strong commitment to health, safety and compliance
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and communicate with a range of stakeholders
  • Flexible approach to working hours, including evenings, nights, weekends and on call duties
