Role Description

The Traffic Management Project Manager role is a full-time, on-site position based in Leeds. The role involves planning, coordinating, and overseeing temporary traffic management schemes, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget. Day-to-day tasks include managing project schedules, liaising with clients, local authorities, and internal teams, and arranging resources, equipment, and logistics for traffic management operations. The Project Manager will review drawings and method statements, ensure compliance with relevant standards and legislation, and monitor site performance and safety. The role also includes managing documentation, reporting progress, resolving operational issues, and supporting continuous improvement across projects.

  • Project management skills, including Project Management with experience coordinating multiple concurrent projects.
  • Management skills to manage materials, equipment, and resource allocation for traffic management operations.
  • Knowledge of traffic management regulations, highways standards, and health and safety requirements (e.g., Chapter 8, sector schemes) is highly beneficial.
  • Strong communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving abilities, with experience working with clients, local authorities, and site teams.
  • Proficiency in using project planning and reporting tools, and in maintaining accurate records and documentation.
  • Previous experience in traffic management is desirable.
  • Relevant professional certifications or qualifications in project management, highways, or traffic management are an advantage.
