Competitive day rate (Contract)
Naughton Contracts Ltd is a young, ambitious civil engineering company delivering groundworks, earthworks, basements, site set-up and enabling, and civil engineering solutions across residential, commercial, and infrastructure projects. Including major data centre developments. We're looking for a Traffic Marshall to join our site team on an active data centre project in Cambois, Northumberland.
About the Role
As Traffic Marshall, you'll be responsible for the safe management of vehicle and pedestrian movements around site, helping to keep our workforce safe and site operations running smoothly.
Key Responsibilities
- Control and direct vehicle and pedestrian movements around site to prevent collisions and maintain a safe working environment.
- Guide vehicles and plant safely into position, including reversing manoeuvres.
- Monitor site traffic routes and flag any hazards or changes in conditions.
- Communicate clearly with drivers, operatives, and site management at all times.
- Support the delivery of a safe site by enforcing traffic management plans.
- Report any incidents, near misses, or hazards to site management promptly.

Experience
- Proven experience as a Traffic Marshall within construction or civil engineering.
- Experience working on civil engineering, groundworks, or RC frame projects.
- Familiarity with data centre or industrial facility projects is an advantage.
Knowledge
- Good understanding of site traffic management practices and safety procedures.
- Awareness of UK health & safety legislation as it relates to site traffic management.
- Understanding of vehicle blind spots and safe reversing procedures.
Qualifications
- Valid Traffic Marshall/Banksman ticket.
- Valid CSCS card, preferably with 1 year or more remaining.
- Right to work in the UK.
Skills
- Good communication skills, with the ability to give clear, confident instructions to drivers and operatives.
- High attention to detail and constant situational awareness.
- Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work well as part of a team.
- Proactive approach to identifying and reporting hazards.
