Are you an experienced Traffic Signals Installer looking for your next career step? SWARCO UK is expanding its team in St Albans and has three exciting opportunities for skilled installers to join our intelligent traffic management solutions team.

About the Role

At SWARCO, you’ll be part of a mission to keep people and communities moving safely every day. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Installing and commissioning traffic signals, pedestrian crossings, and urban traffic technology across the UK and Ireland.
  • Delivering projects safely, on time, and to the highest quality standards.
  • Managing your own work on-site with clear professional handover processes.
  • Collaborating with project teams to identify and adapt to changes in project scope while maintaining compliance.
  • Ensuring strict adherence to health, safety, and quality protocols.
  • Acting as a professional representative of SWARCO on customer sites.

Responsibilities

  • Installing and commissioning traffic signals and associated urban traffic technology.
  • Project execution: Ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to high standards.
  • Self-management: Organising workloads and completing tasks efficiently without direct supervision.
  • Cross-team collaboration: Reporting scope changes to project teams and working in tandem for seamless delivery.
  • Health, safety, and quality compliance: Maintaining the highest standards in all work environments.
  • Customer representation: Ensuring a positive professional impression on client sites.

Requirements

Essential

  • Sector 8 Accreditation (including NRSWA, G39, and ECS).
  • Proven experience in traffic signal installations or similar electrical infrastructure work.
  • Basic electrical knowledge to understand and work with related systems.
  • Understanding of traffic signal installation equipment and functionality.
  • Full UK driving licence (a company vehicle will be provided).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proactive attitude with a strong attention to detail.

Preferred

  • Previous experience working with intelligent transport systems or smart infrastructure.
