Trainee Account Handler

Salary: £28,000 - plus monthly bonus

Location: Northfleet/Hybrid

This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing commercial insurance team, with a structured training academy, ongoing support, and the chance to develop your own book of business.

You’ll work with clients across the construction and commercial property sectors throughout Kent and London, gaining hands-on experience across a broad range of commercial insurance products while developing your technical knowledge and client relationship skills.

With dedicated training and support from experienced Team Leaders, you’ll have the opportunity to build a long-term career in commercial insurance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with commercial clients, understanding their individual insurance needs
  • Develop your own book of business through a combination of inbound leads and outbound new business activity
  • Quote and arrange commercial insurance policies, communicating directly with clients over the telephone
  • Manage the full policy lifecycle, from new business quotations through to renewals
  • Identify opportunities to cross-sell additional policies and grow existing client accounts, with most clients holding 2–3 policies
  • Gain exposure to premiums of up to £40,000 per policy, with an average premium of £10,000
  • Handle a range of commercial risks, including Cyber, Employers’ Liability, Contractual Liability, Public Liability, Property and Fleet
  • Develop your broking skills across both E-Trade and manual placements, with approximately 70% of business handled through E-Trade and 30% manually
  • Work with leading insurers, including Aviva, Allianz, Chubb and Zurich
  • Work closely with Team Leaders and colleagues to deliver excellent client service while developing your technical and commercial knowledge
