An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Trainee Accountant to join a growing and ambitious professional services business based in London.
Working closely with senior members of the finance team, this is a broad and hands-on role offering excellent exposure across financial reporting, month-end, management information, budgeting, payroll, and finance operations. The successful candidate will be given genuine ownership and the opportunity to develop their accounting career within a fast-paced and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support and manage the month-end close process, ensuring accurate and timely reporting
- Prepare management information and reporting packs, providing insight into financial performance
- Maintain an accurate and well-controlled general ledger
- Manage the Accounts Payable process and support working capital management
- Support the monthly payroll process, including commissions, bonuses, overtime, joiners, and leavers
- Complete regular financial and data reconciliations, investigating and resolving discrepancies
- Support budgeting and forecasting, including reviewing actual performance against budget
- Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to provide accurate financial information
- Support the annual audit and other year-end finance requirements
- Help develop and improve financial controls, processes, and procedures
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency through automation, AI, and new finance tools

About You:
We’re looking for an ambitious and commercially minded finance professional who is keen to develop their career within accounting.

You will ideally have:
- Previous experience within a finance or accounting role
- A good understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
- Strong Excel and analytical skills
- Excellent attention to detail and a problem-solving mindset
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- An accounting/finance degree or progress towards ACA, ACCA, or CIMA would be advantageous
- Experience using Xero or similar accounting software would be beneficial
