Looking to start your career in Finance?

Join our Accounts Payable team and gain hands-on experience across some of the UK’s best-known retail brands.

As a Trainee Accounts Payable Assistant, you’ll work across Ryman, London Graphic Centre and Boux Avenue, supporting the wider Finance team with the day-to-day running of our Accounts Payable function. You’ll receive full training and support from an experienced team, giving you the opportunity to build your knowledge, develop your skills and take your first steps towards a career in Finance.

No previous Finance or Accounts Payable experience is required, we’re looking for someone who is organised, numerate, keen to learn and confident communicating with others.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Processing invoices accurately and efficiently across our different brands.
  • Managing the central Accounts Payable inbox and making sure queries and requests are dealt with promptly.
  • Setting up new suppliers and ensuring information is recorded accurately.
  • Following up on unauthorised invoices and credits with the relevant departments.
  • Preparing monthly supplier statement reconciliations and investigating any discrepancies.
  • Supporting the weekly BACS payment run to make sure invoices are paid within agreed payment terms.
  • Actioning correspondence relating to overdue accounts and making sure issues are resolved promptly.
  • Responding to supplier queries and investigating issues, resolving them where possible or referring them to the appropriate team.
  • Building positive working relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders across the business.
  • Developing your understanding of Accounts Payable processes, systems and the wider Finance function.
  • Supporting the team with other administrative tasks and projects as your knowledge and confidence grow.

What You’ll Bring

  • No previous Finance or Accounts Payable experience is required full training will be provided.
  • A genuine interest in starting and developing a career in Finance.
  • Good numeracy skills and confidence working with numbers.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Confidence speaking to people over the telephone and communicating with suppliers and colleagues.
  • A willingness to ask questions, learn from others and build your knowledge.
  • The confidence to communicate with stakeholders, ask for information or support and raise issues when needed.
  • Strong organisation skills and a methodical approach to your work.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to getting things right.
  • The ability to work well as part of a team while also using your own initiative.
  • A positive and proactive attitude, with a willingness to get stuck in and learn.
