Trainee Advanced Clinical Practitioner
Are you an experienced healthcare professional ready to develop into an Advanced Clinical Practitioner within a challenging, creative and fast-paced environment? We are seeking a Trainee Advanced Clinical Practitioner to join our integrated healthcare team at HMP The Verne.
This Band 7 development role offers the opportunity to undertake postgraduate training in Advanced Clinical Practice while building advanced knowledge and skills across clinical practice, leadership, education and research, with a minimum of 20% off-the-job learning.
You will work semi-autonomously, supported by clinical and academic assessors, to deliver safe, evidence-based and person-centred care to a diverse patient population. As a Trainee Advanced Clinical Practitioner, you will undertake comprehensive, person-centred clinical and risk assessments, drawing on biological, psychological, social and spiritual perspectives. You will develop advanced clinical reasoning and decision-making skills to manage complex, incomplete or conflicting information, and plan, deliver and evaluate evidence-based care and treatment within your professional scope of practice.

You will recognise deterioration, prioritise interventions and escalate or refer appropriately to other professionals and services, while maintaining accurate, contemporaneous clinical records and care plans in line with governance requirements.
The role will also involve providing clinical leadership, supervision, teaching and support to colleagues, students and other healthcare professionals; contributing to clinical audit, research, quality improvement and service development initiatives; and working collaboratively across local care systems, partner agencies and the wider multidisciplinary team. You will maintain a professional portfolio and demonstrate competence across the four pillars of advanced clinical practice.
