Job Overview
We are thrilled to announce an exciting opportunity for an Advanced Nurse Practitioner to join our dynamic Surgical and Urology team at Wexham Park Hospital! This is your chance to play a vital role in our clinical setting, where you'll focus on the assessment, diagnosis, and management of patients in the Acute Surgical environment.

We are looking for a passionate Advanced Nurse Practitioner who is a qualified advanced practitioner capable of assessing and treating a wide range of clinical cases. You will have the opportunity to bring your expertise to the table and help us continuously develop and enhance our services.
If you're not yet qualified, we would still love to hear from you! We are open to accepting a trainee at Band 7—an experienced nurse who is ready to embark on a recognised Advanced Clinical Practitioner (ACP) program. We are committed to supporting your journey toward achieving qualified ACP status upon completion.

Main duties of the job
The Advanced Clinical Practitioner (ACP) will provide autonomous, expert care for patients with a range of acute and chronic conditions. The post holder will undertake comprehensive assessment, investigation, diagnosis, treatment and management of patients, ensuring high-quality, evidence-based care is delivered in line with local and national guidelines.
Working across professional boundaries as part of a multidisciplinary team, the ACP will use advanced clinical reasoning and decision-making skills to support positive patient outcomes and enhance service delivery.
The post holder will contribute to service improvement, provide clinical leadership, and support the education, supervision and development of nursing, allied health professional (AHP) and medical colleagues. Working within the four pillars of Advanced Clinical Practice, they will promote excellence in patient care, education, research and leadership while acting as a role model for professional practice.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Current unrestricted registration as a Nurse, Midwife or AHP
- MSc Advanced Clinical Practice or equivalent qualification
- Teaching and assessing/mentorship qualification
- Registered Independent Prescriber (if relevant to role)
- Resuscitation/Life Support course (if appropriate to area and role)
- GCSE English and Mathematics at grade C or above (or equivalent qualifications)
Desirable criteria
- Leadership qualification/course
- ALS/ATLS/ETC/APLS/EPA LS (as relevant to role)
Experience
Essential criteria
- Relevant years post-registration experience
- Relevant experience within the speciality
- Evidence of ability to work & lead autonomously at advanced practice level
- Management of patients with complex needs
- Evidence of delivery of training
- Clinical Supervision experience
- Contribution to audit, Ability to initiate, sustain and evaluate change within a variety of clinical situations
