Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated Trainee Advocate to join our team. This entry-level role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in developing a career within the legal or advocacy sector. The successful candidate will gain valuable experience in client support, organisational tasks, and professional communication, with the potential to grow into a fully qualified Advocate. The position is paid and provides comprehensive training to support your professional development.
Responsibilities
- Assist senior Advocates with case preparation and research
- Support clients by providing information and answering queries in a professional manner
- Organise and maintain case files and documentation using Microsoft Office tools
- Attend meetings and take detailed notes to ensure accurate record-keeping
- Participate in mentoring sessions to develop legal knowledge and advocacy skills
- Contribute to the organisation of outreach programmes and community engagement activities
- Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and managing correspondence
- Develop strong communication skills through regular interaction with clients, colleagues, and external partners

Requirements
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
- Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Customer service experience or aptitude for client-facing roles is desirable
- Mentoring or coaching experience is advantageous but not essential; willingness to learn is key
- IT literacy with an understanding of digital communication tools and platforms
- Demonstrated motivation to pursue a career in advocacy or legal services
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a professional environment
