Job Title: Trainee Asbestos Surveyor
Location: East Kilbride, Scotland
Penguin Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a well-established asbestos consultancy in their search for a Trainee Asbestos Surveyor to join their growing team based in East Kilbride.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a long-term career within the asbestos industry, with full training, industry qualifications, and ongoing support provided. You do not need to already hold the BOHS P402, although previous experience within construction, asbestos, or a similar practical environment would be highly desirable.
The role will involve working across the Central Belt of Scotland, initially carrying out asbestos surveys alongside experienced surveyors before progressing towards managing your own workload independently.

Salary and Benefits
- GBP25,000 - GBP28,000 salary (DOE)

The Role
- Assisting experienced surveyors with Management and Refurbishment and Demolition (R and D) asbestos surveys
- Learning to identify and assess asbestos-containing materials in accordance with HSG264
- Collecting bulk samples and recording accurate site information
- Producing asbestos survey reports with full training provided
- Travelling across the Central Belt of Scotland
- Working across commercial, industrial, domestic, education, and public sector properties
- Developing your knowledge of asbestos legislation and industry best practice
- Gradually progressing towards independently managing your own surveying workload
- Ensuring all work complies with HSE guidance and company procedures

About You
- Construction or asbestos industry experience would be desirable
- Previous Asbestos Experience Is Beneficial But Not Essential
- BOHS P402 is not required, with training and qualifications provided
- Keen to develop a long-term career within asbestos surveying
- Practical and comfortable working in a field-based environment
- Good communication and organizational skills
- Willingness to travel throughout the Central Belt and occasionally stay away when required
- Full UK driving licence (essential)
- Professional, reliable, and eager to learn
